Our Local Rules section outlines everything you need to know before playing Langlands Golf Course. From temporary changes to seasonal adjustments, this page keeps you fully prepared and confident for your round.

Blue and White Stakes (Baby Trees / GUR)
Holes 5, 8, 9, 17, and 18

Blue and white staked areas are located around the golf course. Some are permanent, while others are temporary. This rule applies to all blue and white marked areas designating baby trees or Ground Under Repair (GUR).

If your ball comes to rest in one of these areas, you are entitled to full relief without penalty. You must take nearest point of relief, no nearer to the hole, in line with where the ball entered the area. If the exact entry point is uncertain, use your best judgement in agreement with your playing partners.

You are not required to find or retrieve your ball, provided you and your playing partners agree that the ball came to rest in the marked area.

Out of bounds (White stakes)

(Rule 18.2)

A ball is defined as "out of bounds" if it lies:

  • Over or beyond* any wall, fencing or hedgerow clearly defining the course boundary. 

  • Over and beyond* and white stakes defining out of bounds that are located around the perimeter of the course. 

*  Over and beyond means the ball must be fully over the "line" between two white stakes that mark the boundary. 

Abnormal course conditions 

(Rule 16)

Like many courses in the area, Langlands gold course can be affected by abnormal course conditions. such as: Temporary Water, animal imprints or other immovable obstructions.

Under rule 16.1a, relief can only be taken in the normal area (Not in a penalty area) if the players ball, stance or swing is impacted by the abnormal condition. a drop will be one within club-length from the nearest point of relief free from the noted condition no nearer the hole.
