SCRATCH GOLF IS COMING TO LANGLANDS - APRIL 2026
The Match Committee has listened to members and is excited to announce a new initiative for this season—our quest for better scratch golf (gross scores).
Each week, all scores from Saturday competitions will be automatically entered into a brand-new online leaderboard (pictured to the left). This leaderboard will track each player’s best 8 gross scores, meaning the more you play, the greater your chances of competing.
No more battling against higher handicaps—this is a competition based purely on golf, where every shot counts.
At the end of the season, the top player will be awarded the “Scratch Golfer of the Year” trophy.
Like many clubs, Langlands Golf Club is proud to have members of all ages and abilities. We’ve recognised that there is currently a gap in competitive opportunities for our over-60 golfers when it comes to scratch (gross) play—so we’re introducing something new this season.
Senior Club Championships (Over 60s)
Just like the Gents’ Gross Leaderboard, your scores from Saturday competitions will be automatically added each week to a dedicated senior leaderboard (shown to the right). Your best 8 gross scores will count towards your overall total.
At the end of the qualifying period, the top 8 players on this leaderboard will progress to the Senior Scratch Club Championships, which will take place the week before the main Club Championships.
This scheduling means you can still compete in the standard Club Championships and Handicap competitions as well.

Entry forms are available in the usual spot by the bar. Simply fill yours in, place it along with your entry fee in an envelope, and drop it into the pay-in box — easy!
Looking for a partner? I’ve created a post on the members’ Facebook page where you can connect with others. Just leave a comment and hopefully someone will team up with you.
There’s also a dedicated page for each event with full details on rules and formats. Schedules will be posted there once finalised. Please note: telephone numbers won’t be shared online due to data protection, but they’ll still be available inside the clubhouse as usual.
